MEET JENN

I have always loved the birthing journey. I became a licensed massage therapist in 1998, and went on to complete continuing education courses in prenatal and postpartum massage, massage labor support and infant massage instruction. I began my doula career by providing pregnant massage clients with labor support during early labor. I fell in love with the birth process and the families.

I am a certified birth doula, licensed massage therapist and professional photographer. I completed birth doula training in 2007, and went on to become certified through DONA International in 2009. I attended a postpartum doula training through DONA International in 2011. I am a member of the non-profit professional organization Central Ohio Doulas. I have been supporting families full-time as a birth doula for the past ten years.

My husband and I live in northern Delaware county on a small family farm, and have two amazing kids. Our son Drew (14) runs cross country, plays golf and loves to fish. Our daughter Rory (11)  loves creating art projects and reading. We have a dog and two cats, and a flock of hens. Nate and I own an Organic Lawn Care company.

just a little more

I talk with my hands, a lot. I'm in my comfort zone when I'm making a list or organizing a project. I love working out, but only once I'm ten minutes in. Those first ten minutes stink. I sing loudly while driving, and my kids complain even louder. We adopt our pets from shelters or rescue groups. Our current dog, Olive, is a Pit Bull mix. She gives the best hugs ever. I love to cook but I'm not big on baking. My favorite books are the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be crusty French sourdough with creamy butter. I have several great girlfriends who love and understand me. My husband and I started dating our senior year in high school - but we're not too keen on being called High School Sweethearts. He cooks a killer waffle dinner when I'm out at births. I love to laugh and find self-deprecating humor a great quality. Well, now you know a little more about me.
